Hello all,
I just would like to say that my guest is not running any database server.
Maybe another program uses these calls, producting the high CPU load.
Any way to find out which process to blame?

Best regards,
Bernhard

Yes! As soon as I disable or disconnect all persistent USB devices, the load drops to 5%. Disabling USB has the same effect. Is this a known issue?
What can be done to solve it? I require the USB key to make some software work :)

Hi I am new to Linux and VBox. I have read the above, but am not fully sure what applies to me, or what to do. Here is a snapshot of "TOP"

Code: Select all

Tasks: 114 total,   1 running, 113 sleeping,   0 stopped,   0 zombie
Cpu(s):  9.0%us, 90.3%sy,  0.0%ni,  0.3%id,  0.0%wa,  0.0%hi,  0.3%si,  0.0%st

Swap:  2104472k total,      116k used,  2104356k free,   587552k cached

This is with the XP guest install running but more or less idle. I have no USB enabled in the Guest, But my mouse and WiFi are connected via USB to the host, openSUSE 11.1. 3d acceleration is enabled (auto) I have guest additions loaded to the guest. In case there are problems, the above shows that VBox is consuming 93% of CPU!
The VBox is v2.1.4
openSuse 11.1; KDE 3.5.1; Athlon 3400; 2Gb RAM; GPU nVidia 6150 IGP; VBOX 3.0.8;
Guest MS Win XP sp3 870Mb RAM; 128Mb graphics Mem

Have anyone tried my temporary solution of running dummy vm with minimal amount of ram, i guess to force vbox use load balancing?
