can't boot physical w2k

Post by mess-mate »

Hi, i've installed a virtualbox on my debian system version 2.1.4. for an existing physical disk/partition as follows:

Code: Select all

VBoxManage internalcommands createrawvmdk -filename ~/Vbox/win2000.vmdk -rawdisk /dev/hda -partitions -mbr mbr.mbr -register
Starting VirtualBox and launching the created vbox i've this error:

Code: Select all

FATAL: no bootable medium found.
I copied my MBR to the file mbr.mbr and if i understood, the mbr is now included in the *.vmdk file(s) ? So what's the problem if the vbox couldn't be started ?
best regards
