Hallo,

i use Virtualbox 2.1.4. XP as Host and german Windows7 B7000 as guest.
I installed the Guest support program.

Now, the mouseintegration is working. But the Drag drop of files is not working (from Host to guest).
And the Clipboard share is not working.

I can not read something about this in this forum. Is this normal or a special problem of my system?

Please ask for additional information if needed.

Thanks.

PS: If i click on VirtualBox Trayicon in guest there is no reaction. No Menue will pop up.

I was under the impression drag and drop does not work for files, only clipboard related material like text.

oh... now i tested text and yes. Text only is working.

Really confusing.

Not really, drag&drop with a file requeres binary transfer which is more complex then text or unicode, but also exposes the host for exploits.

Without VB is useless. Sorry.

"useless" is a little strong, but I do see where you're coming from. I often miss the ability to drag and drop between host and guest. Have you looked at shared folders? They may fit your requirements for now until complete drag and drop support is implemented.

I am using VirtualMachine at home, as a hobby to test different programs and operating systems.

Why is it not possible to make a home user solution which would enable drag and drop even without enterprise grade security.
