Host+Home does not bring up panel in VB 2.1.4 on SuSE 11.1
Host+Home does not bring up panel in VB 2.1.4 on SuSE 11.1
When I am running a virtual machine in fullscreen mode, pressing Host+Home brings up the Machine/Devices/Help menu but does not bring up the KDE panel at the bottom of my screen (so that I can switch to another virtual desktop, for example). I am running VB 2.1.4 on a SuSE 11.1 host, with kwin as my window manager and the fancy GUI effects turned off. Many versions ago (so many that I can't remember exactly---it may have been pre-2.0.0) I used to have this problem occasionally, but lately Host+Home has worked fine. In particular, it always worked correctly with VB 2.1.2 and SuSE 11.1, and I did not change my installation in any other way when I upgraded to VB 2.1.4.

So what is your exact issue? The keyboard shortcut does what it should do. If you want to switch desktop while maintaining fullscreen, hit the Host key once, then the shortcut to swap desktops (like Ctrl+Alt+left).

Sasquatch,
Thank you for the suggestion. In the past I have always used the pager to switch desktops, or the taskbar to go to a specific window, and did not even have shortcuts set up for switching desktops. I have set up appropriate shortcuts now and everything works as you explained. Still, something is different in 2.1.4, because in prior versions Host+Home would bring up the panel (with the pager and taskbar), but in 2.1.4 it does not---at least not for me. It's not a big deal. Thanks to your suggestion I can do what I need to.

It's probably a bug they fixed. Or an update on your system made it behave as it should. VB would never show the Host panels when the Home menu was called.
