Thanks @michaln for clarifying "Everything You Always Wanted to Know About USB* (*But Were Afraid to Ask)" ;)

I've seen developers (I believe it might have been you) proposing to use xHCI (if you can) because it has a much better/cleaner implementation compared to OHCI and EHCI. Always hesitant to try it out since everything was working just fine, but it's good to know.

OK, the tablet and the storage, I've seen/done them. But as far as the webcam you're referring to, I don't think I've been able to "emulate" a webcam. Maybe you're referring to the fact that your USB camera gets through to the guest via something different other than the default EHCI?

I'm referring to an emulated USB webcam. It uses the host's video services and can work with both USB and non-USB webcams. For example many (all?) new Macs no longer have USB webcams so they can't be passed through directly (no way to capture the device). They can be passed through using the USB webcam emulation.
