Hi,
since few days an alert box appears when I click on "Settings" tab of my VMs. In this box there is the following message "Could not load the USB proxy service (VERR_FILE_NOT_FOUND). The service might not be installed on the host computer." The error code is E_FAIL (0x00004005). I have done the upgrade to 2.1.4 to try to fix the error but nothing happens. Sometimes VBox crashes during VM shutdown. At a first look the directories and files seem ok. I have also looked at FAQ and search but I did not found anything. Coud someone help me?

Could be a problem in the VM xml file, what if you re-create the VM with the same settings and then attach the current VDI to it?

Have you tried using the "Repair" options under "Control Panel > Programs and Features" for the VirtualBox application? It's worth to try.
