Hi

I attach my VM to a bridge interface under linux, this way I can move from eth0 to wlan0 with out worrying, I have nat'ing setup. works well.

My problem is on a clean boot of linux and a clean start of the VM. the vm can't talk to the outside world. I have to ping from the host to the guest to get it started. I am guessing this has to to do with the new network driver.

<Adapter slot="0" enabled="true" MACAddress="080027FE232E" cable="true" speed="0" type="Am79C973">
<HostInterface name="brVB"/>

brctl show
bridge name bridge id STP enabled interfaces
brVB 8000.000000000000 no

This is under debian host, VB 2.1.2r41885.

Any one else seen this ?

As you can see in your brctl show output, there is no interface in your bridge. You don't have to use that anymore, because since 2.1.0 you can select the interface directly. You say you have HIF, but also NAT. What are you using exactly? NAT or HIF?

And you can add two NICs to the VM, one with each physical interface if you want. One will always work, because you are connected with that.
