I just installed VirtualBox 2.1.4 on Fedora 10. It is running my VMs fine, but when I try to install the latest guest additions on a Windows Guest, I get a brief flash of command window and then nothing. So, I opened a command prompt and ran "D:\VBoxWindowsAdditions-x86.exe" and this error message appears on the command-line:
Program too big to fit in memory
I thought that maybe a bad .iso got packaged in the linux install rpm, so I downloaded the VBoxGuestAdditions_2.1.4.iso, and compared its SHA1SUM to the one installed at /usr/share/virtualbox ... no joy. The SHA1SUM values are the same.
Anyone else seeing this error?
GuestAdditions 2.1.4: "Program too big to fit in memor
RESOLVED: GuestAdditions 2.1.4: "Program too big to fit
I'm happy to say that after rebooting my Windows Guest, this problem went away.
I'm not sure why this would happen; I guess I should point out that the windows guest that I attempted to install the updated guest additions into was a guest that I had 'saved', and not a VM that I booted 'fresh'.

Removed 3.2.6 and then installed Virtualbox 3.2.8 on my Ubuntu 10.04 host. WinXP guest was previously running 3.2.6 guest additions and wouldn't open the guestaddition ISO's installer. I was also getting "Program too big to fit in memory".
