Host Interface Initializaion Fails ..Linux Host WIN-XP Guest

Post by raja_s_patil »

I am unable to start the virtual machine if I select
Host Interface in Network card selection. The error is

Failed to initialize Host Interface Networking.
VBox status code: -3100 (VERR_HOSTIF_INIT_FAILED).

Result Code:
NS_ERROR_FAILURE (0x80004005)
Component:
Console
Interface:
IConsole {e3c6d4a1-a935-47ca-b16d-f9e9c496e53e}

Virtual box 2.0.2, Kubuntu 8.04.2
Kernel 2.6.24-22-generic, Guest OS win XP SP3

However rest of the interfaces like NAT, Internal etc. can be used
and VM atleast Starts. Rest of the testing i have not yet done.

Thanks and Best Regards

Hello,

Sorry for trouble, :(

I have upgraded to ver 2.1 and recreated VM with
Host interface and attached vbox0 adapter to it
and the VM started well. :D
