Find out what type of wireless adapter you have, then the version of the driver currently in use, then locate the website of who makes the driver and check there for the latest version.

I have a similar problem. Installed VB and wireless performance dropped. Was able to get 10Mb/s download before VB, dropped to 3Mb/s after install. Updated wireless drivers (Broadcom) with no improvement. Installed on another laptop (Intel 5100 wireless device), and same results. Internet speed dropped to 3Mb/s. Removed VB and speed returned.

It might also be a combination with the latest VB version, what I had was with 2.06 and solved with a newer wifi driver.

Updated my driver and changed to older driver nothing helped.

Changed the firmware on my router, did not help.

Attempted to install older version of VB but would not install properly.

Have most current version installed now and am surfing on guest through ethernet.

If you go thru the buglist, there are problems listed with wifi, so its not that odd for some it doesn't work.

New 2.1.4 should have a lot of fixes, for HIF too.
