hi All,

before I was aware that there are two Virtualbox, OSE and PUEL, I had mine installed onto Ubuntu Intrepid.

How can I tell which one I've got?
About Virtualbox says xVM 2.1.2

ciao,

If you have USB options then you've got the PUEL edition.

I wish the user interface was more specific...

There is a different method to see which version you have. Just open a terminal (or your package manager) and type dpkg -s `dpkg -l | grep virtualbox | cut -d ' ' -f 3` which should give you more info on the installed package.

With your package manager, you can search for it too and it should either say virtualbox-ose, or virtualbox-2.1 is installed, as where the latter will be the PUEL version.

So unless you added the VB repo yourself, or downloaded the package from the website, you're running the OSE.

Still, easiest to find out which version you're running is the USB trick ;).

well, yesterday I managed to install my usb printer on my XP guest, so I deduce that it's not the OSE...?

Life is easy, you must only have a Look at:

"Help" => "About VirtualBox"

If there is no hint "OSE", than its PUEL.
