XP Video Driver

Post by kromberg »

First off, I want to say how completely impressed with VirtualBox I am. Excellent work to all the developers :) XP running under VirtualBox has pretty darn good performance in that there are only sometime I can notice lag.

I have XP running as a guest on a Fedora host. The video driver XP has installed is basic VESA driver because it can not figure out the video card installed. I was wondering what you be a good video driver to use to get better video resolution on the XP guest. Here is the specs on the Fedora host:

Fedora 8 x86_64
VirtualBox 2.1.2
Dual 270 Opterons
8GB ram
ATI X1650 256MB Video Card ( using the ATI Linux Drivers )

The XP guest is set up to use 3GB of RAM and 128MB of video memory with 3d acceleration enable.

TIA,
Keith

Be more specific.

Version, guest configuration and exact description when crash appears.

Set on guest: single core Intel Pentium @ 1.99Ghz
GPU/VPU: Vrbox plug-in
