Shared folders-Exact path

I have a guest OS setup with shared folders enabled. In the Add Share box I have tried many ways of putting in the Folder Path and Folder Name but no matter what...I always get the Folder path is not Absolute.

My scanner is not working correctly and I am thinking that perhaps if I can transfer my original exe file to Windows 2000 (the guest OS) it might work. I have put the folder in Desktop as well as in....Home/Steve. My question is just exactly what is the absolute path? I have tried: desktop/Epsonexe (name of the folder) and home/steve/Epsonexe.

I am new at this and my mind only runs so much along this type of thing. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have googled this and checked forums and it is very complicated.

An absolute path is in this case a non-symlink path. E.g., I have a symlink in / that points to a folder in /media. I can't select /data as a SF, but /media/data works. Keep this in mind.
