Is it possible to start the virtual machine without having to go into the virtual box software first? ie...type a command line arguement that starts the given machine?

Thanks

Never mind. Found it.

For those that need it,
VirtualBox -startvm "name_of_the_virtual_machine"

or you can use VBoxSDL or VBoxHeadless depending on the virtualised KVM that you wish to adopt. The manual explains the differences.

hi a lil help i tried what you said and:

chi@chi-laptop:~$ virtualbox -startvm "tiny XP"
The program 'virtualbox' is currently not installed. You can install it by typing:
sudo apt-get install virtualbox-ose
bash: virtualbox: command not found

i got sun xVM, is the instructions differnt?

nvm found out how:

chi@chi-laptop:~$ vboxmanage -startvm "tiny XP"
The program 'vboxmanage' is currently not installed. You can install it by typing:
sudo apt-get install virtualbox-ose
bash: vboxmanage: command not found
chi@chi-laptop:~$ VBoxManage startvm "Tiny XP"

Linux based operating systems are case sensative. You used all lowercase, where mine had a some upper and lower. Try again using my example EXACTLY as it was typed and you should be good.

Read the Forum FAQ. You need to install Guest Additions for Windows (the manual explains how). Note that you might have a few problems with TinyXP.
