I looked around, but couldn't find what I am looking for.
I just installed 2.1.2 on my ubuntu 8.10 laptop. I then copied a VMWare 6.0.5 image to the laptop and attempted to start it up. I attached the vmdk file and that seemed alright. I then clicked the Start button. The vm seems to start and the window says "Running" but after the VirtualBox splashscreen, it goes black and nothing happens.
Can someone point me in the right direction? Thanks.

It should start OK as long as you get your VM settings correct: PAE, APIC, etc. and also the IDE controller. However remember that Windows often stalls in boot if you swap IDE controllers so you may need to run the MergeIDE fix.
