Vbox won't start

Am running on a slackware based system. All was well until I upgraded to the current version of vbox. Upgrade went fine, no errors reported. Since then when starting vbox i get the following

Callee RC:
NS_ERROR_FACTORY_NOT_REGISTERED (0x80040154)

This also happens after removing all traces of newest installation and re-installing older versions. Never had any trouble before.

Any bright ideas? Thanks for the help.

Hi,
is virtualbox running when startet as root user?
If yes, check for a subdir starting with ".vbox" int the /tmp directory. Either remove it or set permissions/owner to the user intended to run virtualbox.
