Mouse doesn't work after pointer catched from GuestSystem

Hi all,

I have a problem, with VB (current version 2.1.2) on opensuse 11.1.
I installed different guest systems (WinXP and FreeBSD) and realized the same thing.

After the guest system window catched the mouse and I worked within the window propperly, I pressed the HostKey (Right - STRG) and the mouse was released from the guest. But from now on I can't use the mouse in my host system.
It seemed to me, the mouse events weren't delivered to the KDE window stuff.

Does anybody have the same effect and have a solution for this?

Thank you and best
regards
Michael

Install the Guest Additions. Those will provide you with Seamless Mouse integration, so you don't have to click inside the VM to capture the mouse and hit the Host key to release it.

Hi,
thank you for your answer, with Windows as guest system this is probably the solution. It seems to work properly.

BUT:

With FreeBSD as guest the Guest Additions aren't installed and the behaviour is still present.

Does anybody have a solution or any hints to avoid this?

Thanx
Michael

I'm not sure, but I thought that seamless mouse was not supported in *BSD. Only in Windows, Linux and Solaris. Please check the manual for it.
