Dear experts,
I would like to use more than 2 serial ports within VirtualBox (windows 2000 professional guest system) under OpenSuse11.1.
I have a 4xserial pci card installed (UART 16550A) and the ports are mapped at /dev/ttyS5..8, IRQ18 and addresses 0xec00, 0xe880, 0xe800 and 0xe480.
I tried to simply add the ports as new entries in the .xml configuration file, but when I attempt to start the guest system, there are error messages.
Is there any way to make this work?
Thanks for your help!
Wolfgang

Not at the moment. The devs need to add support for more serial ports. You can create a bug report so it get's more attention. See http://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Bugtracker/ for more info. You do need a separate account for it though.
