Several Questions

Post by Denidil »

Ok i have several guest OSes im setting up on an Vista Ultimate 64bit (AMD64) hosts and i have questions related to each of them

Guest 1:
Windows XP 32-bit

when i navigate to \\10.0.2.2 it shows the host system's printer, but attempting to connect to it gives the following error:

"Windows cannot connect to the printer. Either the printer name was typed incorrectly, or the specified printer has lost its connection to the server. For more information, click Help"

Guests 2/3:
old Windows 95/98 and a DOS guest... i have a USB joystick.. is there anyway to emulate a gameport - or is there some software i can install on the guest to emulate a gameport from a USB joystick

i would use dosbox for these later ones.. but it doesn't quite work right...

Windows 98 should have USB support, so it might function directly. Other options like emulating a gameport is not possible, VB does not provide these options.

I'm afraid not. You can try to use HIF and set that up properly.

Check the manual. It's short for Host InterFace networking. Basically, it will use your physical connection to access the network, making your VM take part in the network.
