Raw disk access

Hello All,
after updating to ver 2.1.2 I am not able to boot my XP guest. The virtual drive manager gives me the following error:
Could not open the hard disk '/mnt/VM/VirtualBox/VDI/homedrv.vmdk'.
VD: error opening image file '/mnt/VM/VirtualBox/VDI/homedrv.vmdk' (VERR_ACCESS_DENIED)
I tried some solutions posted in the forum like chmod 777 /dev/sdc2 and more of them, but nothing works.
Any ideas?
