Rollback during installation

Post by herbrand »

Hi,

I had the same problem like a lot of users during re-installation with a new version or the same or older version. The installer makes a roll back at the end and closes with an error.

In an other thread I found the solution to deactivate the network installation. And yes, the installer comes to the end without an error. But I need the network.

In this moment I opened the device manager. And I saw a unknown device. The description said something about virtualbox. My trial: uninstall the device. After this I start the virtualbox installer with network installation. And: The installer closes without an error. Now I can use virtual box again.

I had to trial it during the update to 2.1.2. But I read that such problems can be with all versions.

Maybe my posting can help other user too.

Frank, thanks for this, but you should also let us know what OS you are using: XP, Vista and what version.

Hello,

try to install without network
(select: this feature will not be available)

A Network will be available anyway via the NAT
