Does VB support this? I'm running it on a 64-bit host (FC 9) but when I try to install CentOS 5.2 64 it tells me I don't have a 64 bit cpu. Anything special I need to do perhaps?

Yup, read the manual. It does explain the issues around enabling 64bit guest support. Also see the Forum FAQ. You need an AMD-V / VT-x enabled CPU but BIOS support for the same.
