Display corruption

Hi,

I'm really impressed with VirtualBox. I've been trying many virtualisation solutions recently (VMware WS, VMware ESXi, VMware Server, Hyper-V, Hyper-V Server, VirtualPC etc) and VirtualBox has been a pleasant surprise, very fast with a nice amount of features.

However, I've come across a small bug that is quite annoying. Using internet explorer on a Windows XP SP3 guest (32bit) with Vbox 2.1.2 I get a little black box around the mouse pointer (and the pointer inverts colours) when I move the mouse around the webpage I'm viewing. It seems to be when the pointer changes from the standard pointer to the text cursor and back again, so when moving the mouse around an editbox or selectable text, it's quite apparent. It only happens for a split-second while changing from one pointer to another, like a flash. It happens in IE 6 and 7. It DOESN'T happen with FireFox, though.

Knocking the hardware acceleration slider in display properties down a notch fixes the problem but then the pointer appears a little sluggish and jittery.

Again, only a minor problem but it would be cool if I could fix it.

My specs:
OS: Windows Vista SP1 x64
CPU: Intel Core i7 920
RAM: Corsair Dominator 3x2GB tri-channel 1600mhz DDR3
Mobo: ASUS P6T Deluxe
GFX: ATI Radeon 4870X2 2GB, 1920x1200 resolution

ACPI, Intel VT-x, nested paging, PAE/NX enabled.
Audio, Serial, USB, 3D accel disabled.

Right click
Select Properties
Settings
Advanced
Troubleshoot
Move slider for Hardware acceleration to the left by 1 notch.
"Disable cursor and bitmap accelerations. Use this setting to correct problems with the mouse pointer, or to correct problems with corrupt images."

This fixes the problem.
