Not sure whats going on here, but I can not ping my Guest (Windows Server 2003) or access it via remote desktop from either the host or any other machines on my network. I have verified the Guest is getting correct network info and in the past this has worked fine.
Any ideas?

What are your network settings of the VM and what IP address does the Guest have?

Currently the Guest is received a valid address from my DHCP server, the address is 192.168.1.6.
Another note, I am able to access the internet and ping other addresses on my network from the Guest, just not able to ping it from other hosts...

Assuming the use of HIF, due to the IP address and connectivity to the outside world.
Now, do you run any kind of firewall on the Guest that might prevent this kind of access? Perhaps IP Tables on the Host that could prevent this? Did it work in 2.1.0 or do you have problems since 2.1.0?

Yes sorry, should have clarified that, the Guest is using HIF and I did not have any issues until I re-installed the Guest on 2.1.0 at which point I could not connect to the Guest. I updated to 2.1.2 to see if any changes occur, and yet, still not able to connect to the Guest.

What are the exact settings of the Guest? Keep in mind that if you use HIF, that the interface you use must have a link on it. So if you set it to a wired connection and no cable is connected, the interface will be brought down and it's configuration released.

The network settings for the Guest are "attached to host interface", "cable connected" is checked, and it is attached to Host interface "eth0", which is in fact valid...

So I installed VMware Server 2 and Windows 2003 as a guest and still, there is no way to ping the guest from other hosts on my network, although as with VirtualBox, I can ping hosts from my guest and access the internert.
Now I'm wondering what is going on with Ubuntu (8.04). I'm almost at the point of re-installing it...

Well after re-installed Ubuntu (needed to anyhow thankfully), I discovered that the issue was with Windows Server 2003 and a page that comes up on first boot after installing. I had to click on the "finish" button which immediately told me that inbound connections will now be allowed.
Damn, do I feel dumb and pissed off after spending a day messing with this...
Sasquatch, thank you very much for your prompt responses
