Fedora 10 Host - Cannot find dependencies for RPM install

Post by Jeff91 »

So I am trying to install VB on my Fedora 10 system and when running the RPM I get the following dependence errors:

Code: Select all

libcrypto.so.0.9.8 is needed by VirtualBox-2.1.2_41885_sles10.1-1.i586
	libpython2.4.so.1.0 is needed by VirtualBox-2.1.2_41885_sles10.1-1.i586
Anyone have any idea how I can correct this? My python is up to date and my OpenSSL is also installed. Any ideas?

looks like you're trying to install the suse rpm instead of the fedora one.

when you download the fedora rpm, use yum instead of rpm to solve the dependencies, as root do:

Code: Select all

yum localinstall --nogpgcheck VirtualBox-2.1.2_41885_fedora9-1.i386.rpm
