Vista x64 host locks up at spawning session

Post by yooper_tr »

I am running windows vista 64 bit buisiness edition and i need to use virtualbox for college to use linux and older windows. I try to get a linux fedora 10 or xp pro to load up and it will stop at "spawning session" @ 0%. I have tried a few things and nothing works. I have attached the ISO image to the cd/dvd drive and it will lock up. Please help. If you need to know anything please ask and I will try to reply timely so I can get this fixed.

It's possible that the VBoxdrv kernel module isn't build properly. Please run sudo /etc/init.d/vboxdrv setup from a terminal and see if that gives any error. If it does, you need to solve it. It usually comes down to the kernel-devel package and the kernel you are running that usually are not the same version.

D'oh, that's what you get when answering a lot of questions, you forget which section you are in.

Did you try a repair of the installation?
