I already have installed newest VBox version and I have a question: Can I use the existing virtual harddisks without problems and whether I must reinstall guest operating systems ?

Crazyfrog, by your second post, I assume that you've solved the first.

The answer to your Q is yes, you can reuse your existing VMs and disk images.

Yes, I have solved the problem, and saw that my VBox is updated to 2.1.2 without any problems. Thanks for the answer.

Hello CrazyFrog,

can you tell us how you solved the problem.
I am not that lucky so far. I also cannot reinstall an older version - e.g. 2.1.0 or 2.0.6.
(Windows XP SP3 host).

Certainly for upgrading from 1.6.6 to 2.0.0 I had to uninstall the old version, reboot then install the new. I suspect that going from 1.6.6 to 2.1.2 might be similar.
