I have memory resize problem, need your help

Hi, I've memory allocation problem as follow;

Conditions;
Host OS: 32bit win vista with 4Gb ram.
Guest OS: 32bit win xp pro (runs under virtual machine V2.12)

In the guest (winxp pro sp2) system hsa only 240MB of memory I checked When I resized base memory up to 1024MB (1Gb).

also, it has no change when I checked PAE or not.

I need the guest system to programming with vc++. I need help.

Welcome to our forum. Please read the Forum Posting Guide. This contains some useful tips on how to search for VBox knowledge and how to frame Qs. Also please don't cross post. I've deleted the other copy of this Q.

Re your problem, this sounds odd. Can you paste here the relevant extract of the VBoxManage showvminfo and the guests MSINFO32 (just the system summary will do).

one more thing, since Vbox memory allocation didn't work properly I tried to run under MS Virtual PC and memory allocation is just fine. but I don't like to use Virtual PC because I use to this one(Vbox) .

Just out of interest, what happens if you turn of 3D graphics and drop the video memory to 16 Mb say. This one looks odd and you wan to use the public Bugtracker to raise a ticket for reporting problems in VirtualBox. You need to register for a wiki user account (this is different to a forum account sorry)and make suggestions for improvements.d and
