Kubuntu guest - repeating keys when typing problem

Post by klippe »

Hi!

I've just installed virtualbox 2.1 on windows xp machine, setting up latest kubuntu as guest. I've installed guest additions too.

The problem I'm experiencing is that when typing for example 'ubuntu' i get 'ubuuuuuuntttttu'. Keys are multiplicated.

I've searched this forum but I've only found outdated informations that this bug will be fixed in vbox 1.x (I'm on 2.1) and a hint to turn off hyperthreading in bios (which I didn't found in my bios settings).

Any hints?

Did you try the new 2.1.2 and it's GA? There is a fix for the keyboard when the GA are installed.

Thanks for answer. I didn't but I've just got a report from a person who uses that problematic vbox that the problem disappeared... probably after a restart. The person said that there was no update of vbox or GA.

If you installed it today, then chances are that you already got the latest.
