No Internet Connectivity On Host Interface

I tried using Host Interface for the first time, but I can't seem to connect to the internet. When I open up Firefox, I get the message:

Connection Interrupted
The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading.
The network link was interrupted while negotiating a connection. Please try again.

Now, everything was working fine under the NAT settings except some very slow upload speeds. I decided to try Host Interface instead of NAT to try and get some faster speeds.

I'm using 64-bit VB 2.1.0 on Linux Mint 5 64-bit. I set up Host Interface using the PCnet-FAST III Adapter, selected my wireless connection (wlan0) as the interface, and in the mac address section, I used the mac address of my wireless card.

By doing this, you now have 2 network adapters with the same MAC address. This is a situation which is never supposed to exist in the real world.

You need to allow VB to generate the MAC address for the HIF.

At first I let VB generate a MAC address and I got the "Limited or No Connectivity" icon in my system tray, so I shut down and tried adding my wireless card's MAC.

What do I do if I get "Limited or No Connectivity"?

I've figured it out 15 mins after I left my last post.

What I did was I copied the MAC that VB generated, then went into my router settings and created a Static IP for the VB adapter. Then I started up Windows, went into the TCP/IP connection settings and manually entered the IP address I created as well as the subnet and default gateway for the network. Restart Windows and boom, got a connection.
