Hi,
I have installed virtualbox on my Windows Vista system, and also installed several guest OSs. Everything seems to work o.k., except for one thing, the USB webcam is not functioning propoerly.

The guests, Windows 7, Fedora, or Ubuntu, can recognize the device, but the device is not function at all. For example, on the Windows 7 guest, MSN video setup, shows the video device is "Miscrosoft LifeCam NX3000", but there is no image at all. The status light on the webcam is also on. The same thing happen to other guests too.

I also tried fedora host, and windows xp guest, same thing: usb webcam is recognized by the guest, but not functional.

Other usb devices, such as my usb memory stick, works with no problem.

Can some one help me with this? Thanks!

Use the forum search feature.

This has already been discussed many times.

Asked about as many times as I have posts, so I'm locking this one. There is also a bug ticket of it and it's in the VirtualBox FAQ.
