IPv6 issue

I can't seem to make IPv6 work on a linux (ubuntu 8.10) host with host interface networking. The same works fine on a windows vista host.

As soon as I modprobe ipv6 I get : eth0: duplicate address detected!

Something like rdisc6 eth0 gives me the following :
Soliciting ff02::2 (ff02::2) on eth0...
Sending ICMPv6 packet: cannot assign requested address

The installed virtualbox version is the 2.1.0-41146_Ubuntu_intrepid package from the virtualbox.org apt repository.

This isn't a terribly helpful reply, sorry, I haven't had time to research it myself yet since upgrading to 2.1.0 but I am also experiencing a similar problem. Ubuntu 8.10 64-bit host with a 32-bit WS2003 guest or 32-bit XP guest yields the same type of error for me in the guest.

Did you check the Bugtracker? This defect is already fixed in the SVN, so 2.1.2 has it fixed. See http://www.virtualbox.org/ticket/3056 for more info.

Therefor, locked. Good luck. If you really need IPv6, either use a tunnel like Teredo (miredo on linux), or switch back to 2.0.6. Or just wait a few days, as 2.1.2 should be done pretty soon.
