VirtualBox 2.1.0
Host: Ubuntu 8.10 (2.6.27-9)
Guest: Windows XP SP3

I have installed VirtualBox. Created a virtual machine with two USB Device Filters :
Unknown device 046D:0990 [0007]
Apple Inc. iPhone [0001]

BTW the unknown device is a Logitech QuickCam Pro 9000

I installed iTunes 8.0.2 and the iPhone was recognized. I install the webcam drivers and the webcam was not recognized. Next I noticed the little USB activity indicator (lower right of screen) only has the iPhone listed when moused over. When the USB activity indicator is right clicked the unknown device is present in the list but not check like the iPhone is, also the other USB devices that I did not create filters for are present unchecked in the list.

Ubuntu recognizes the webcam ...

Using luvciew the webcam displays perfectly

I have read about issues where all USB devices are not working, this does not seem to be the case since the iPhone is recognized. I have also read about issues where the webcam is recognized, but when the webcam is displayed the image is black again this is not the case since the webcam is not being recognized. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Mike

A couple of days ago I upgraded virtualbox 2.1.2
and I'm using the same webcam as you which is now recognized using "webcam xp".

I running on an Athlon XP 2000+ with 512 mb ram and I'm also adminstering the box via vnc. I've only been successful with a 320x240 setting on the camera but could be to the lack of power.

This has been an experimental machine for me possible OS replacement for me on my next main desktop computer.
