dns config for br0

Post by wpm »

I have installed VirtualBox 2.06 on CentOS 5. I have successfully installed Windows XP on the VirtualBox. The br0 interface was created in Linux per the VirtualBox help file, and is being used successfully. My problem is with the fact that /etc/resolv.conf is set dynamically per dhcp.

I am on a local doman network that is within a larger corporate network. The powers that be insist on maintaining control of dhcp and refuse to acknowledge our local domain. We have worked around this situation successfully to this point.

In short, without br0, I can configure the dns servers manually in Linux for eth0. However, br0 (at this point) does not allow me to configure the dns servers manually, and sets them at boot to the corporate dns servers which fail to recognize our local domain. The essential question is this:

How can I manually configure dns servers for br0?

8) TIA for any assistance.

This is more a networking question than a VB question. As of such, it's not in the scope of VB. This situation can be done without the use of VB. Please try a more specialized forum for this network question.
