Hi,

I run Ubuntu 8.10 as host, and would like to install Ubuntu 8.10 as guest using Virtualbox 2.10.

However the installation always stops long before finishing.
And at totally different parts of the installation.

I checked the .iso using MD5 and self-test and is it OK.
Also thee is lots of HDD space available at any moment.

How to find out whats wrong?
Where to look?

Thanks.

Hit HOST + F4 to switch to a different terminal. It should show you the install process in the background. You can then see what is the problem.

Not sure if there is a way to actually log the output of Host+F4 somehow to a file on the host.

But this is where the installation stopped twice:

Installing the base system
6%
Validating coreutils....

and Host+F4

debootstrap: Processing triggers for iniramfs-tools ...

And now?

You might want to check the Ubuntu forums, or use Google, to find out for a possible reason it might stop there. The ISO is not corrupt?
