I have noticed this on 2 machines, each of which has Ubuntu (Ibex) as a host and WXP as guest OS. I am using VirtualBox 2.04.

Normally I can copy something either in XP or in Ubuntu and paste it in the other OS. But many times this stops working after a while; when I copy something in one OS, and press 'paste' in the other OS, what is pasted is still what was in the clipboard last time.

I also found a workaround: Just copy something first in the OS that you want to paste intot; it doesn't matter what, and you don't have to paste it. Then go to the other OS and copy whatever you want to copy; now you can paste it in the first OS.

I have a clipboard applet on my panel that can store an x amount of entries of plain text in it and never had these issues. Maybe you want to try this too. It also grabs the text from my VMs.
