clone and copy of hard disks doesn't keep last changes

Post by monica »

Hi
I'm trying to transfer my virtual machine composed a primary Master and of a primary slave hard disks on another pc. The OS of the virtual machine is Debian lenny. Now, when I run the virtual machine on the new pc I realize that the hard disk contains an old version of the data, and do not keeps changes of the last month at least. This appends either when I make the hard disks copies with VBoxManage clonevdi or when I just copy and paste the VDI files.
What's happening? I have no Idea. In this way I can't make any backup of my virtual machine!!!

Any help is appreciated, thanks in advance!

Best guess - you have been using snapshots, and you only cloned the root VDI. You need to merge all snapshots before cloning.
