I can't seem to hook Internet up too the new Windows 7 in Virtual box. My host system is Ubuntu (Latest 8.10). The virtual box runs Windows 7 perfectly fine otherwise.

Internet Connection:
Wired w/ Linksys WRT54G

Ubuntu is using:
Auto eth0 (default)
Interface: Ethernet (eth0)
Driver: sky2
Speed: 100 mb/s
Primary DNS: 64.71.255.198

Bear with me on this, I don't know most of the Internet terms for I haven't really worked in depth with them.

Set the VM to use one of the Intel network adapters. Then in the VM, set it to use DHCP. Now you should have internet. You can check if you have internet by opening a browser and go to http://74.125.45.100 which should give you google.com. Now try it with it's DNS name.

Like I said my linguo for Internet sucks. What is a intel network adapter?

Edit: O ok so its liek my ethernet card right? I see it in VB but I dont know how to set it in Ubuntu

Ubuntu loads the module for it automatically, if you run it in a VM. The interfaces you set for the Guest are not seen by the Host. So if you set the Intel adapter, the Host won't see it, only the Guest, as VB emulates that. W7 should have that driver.

Ok, so ive looked around and I just cannot figure out how to "Set the intel adapter".

Edit: I jsut found ipv4 settings on Ubuntu, and looks like theres a few methods for DHCP, am I int he right area? If so, what do I do now?

Edit edit: Ok I dont udnerstand how I diddnt understand that, im tired jeez, but I understand that now. I do have a network 1 set on the VM, and I do have that one set for the VMOS, but still nothing

Open the VM settings, then go to Network. If you use the PUEL version, you can choose other network adapters to be emulated than the PCNet ones. Pick an Intel adapter from it. Now boot the VM. W7 should install the driver for it automatically. No need to configure anything on the Host.
