USB Device with 32bit driver on guest, 64bit host.

Post by JesperW »

The target is to be able to use a legacy device with no 64bit driver support.

I see lots of posts from people with the same problem as I get, and no solution. ("busy with a previous request")

Is this configuration supposed to be possible? Has anyone succeeded in doing it?

OK, no answers, so I guess it's official:

USB devices with Win32 drivers are not supported on Windows 64bit hosts in VirtualBox.

(Just making the text clear so that others can google it)

i'm running vista64bit as a host and vista32bit and xp pro both as guests. i've found that if you enable the usb function, but do NOT check the boxes next to the particular keyboard/mouse/microsoft device, it 'somewhat' resolves the doesn't-work-anymore issue.

I don't this USB works on 2.1.0 at all. You always get that "busy with previous request" error message.
