Can't mount Shared Folders

I first tried this using vbox version 2.1, after a search on this forum I found a thread which suggested there were some issues with 2.1 and to try 2.0.6, so I uninstalled 2.1 and instaled 2.0.6

This did fix the issue I was having with sound, but not shared folders, it's an xp vm on an xp host, and I did remember to uninstall the 2.1 guest additions in the vm and install 2.0.6 additions

What happens is I can go through the process of adding the folder, browsing to it and selecting it etc, but the Ok button to complete the process is greyed out

I've loaded the exact same vm into a suse 11 host on another machine, couldn't mount the shared folders in vbox 2.1, but in 2.0.6 they mount and work flawlessly

Anyone have any suggestions as why I still can't mount them in the xp host and how to go about resolving it?

The folders I'm trying to mount are set as shared in windows networking and work ok accessing them that way

You say you can't define a Shared Folder for the Guest? Make sure that the NAME of the Shared Folder does not contain illegal characters, like spaces and underscores (_). Use only normal characters, like a-z.

I'm having this problem (no shared folders) myself but only with a Linux guest. I have Xubuntu 8.10 installed as a guest along with Windows Server 2003 R2. The Server guest can see and use the exact same folder (c:\vmshare) but now the Xubuntu guest cannot (although it could before). I haven't changed anything in the settings except adding the Server 2003 installation.
