Windows 7 VB with Xp Host

Has anyone tried this yet?
I got Windows 7 installed in a VirtualBox (Host machine Windows XP)... not a problem really, except you can't Ctrl/Right to get your cursor out of the program. I used the Vista option. I'm running 32 bit on everything.
With the exception of the cursor issue and the fact that Guest Additions is not supported, it works pretty well so far.

Can't speak to the cursor issue, but
this site has instructions for how to install Guest Additions via compatibility mode.

Thanks! That did it.
Now I have to figure how to get to a shared folder working or network the darn thing.
Thanks again!

Followed the instructions to the letter, and now I'm sailing fast with the previously unavailable 1400x1050 resolution and Mouse Integration.
Thank you for the heads-up on this excellent tip.
Outstanding.

Guest Additions is installed, but I cannot get Audio working in Windows 7 at all when in a VM.
Any tips?

Windows Update will install a working audio driver (don't use the SB16, use the other one).
And I use Host Interface networking plus a share on my host computer (couldn't get shared folders to work but that's just as good).

I installed my guests with additions under Vista, copied the virtualbox folder to the windows7 setup. The vm's come up without a hitch and shared folders work when you have set the shared folder in the vista setup. So "net use blabla" in the vista host vm, copy the entire mess to the win7 and hey presto: shared folder

DirectSound you mean?
To get into Windows Update, I will have to enter one of those Product Keys and Activate, right?
If I try to do that in a VM that may change hardware signatures as I experiment around, wouldn't that prevent me from erasing a VM and start a new one that's all crisp and new and untainted by my registry editing mistakes, etc.?
Thanks much. I look forward to a reply (or many replies) on that Product Key / Activation thing.
