Corrupted vhd after update

Hi people, I had a problem with one of my windows xp virtual disks after updating from virtualboxOSE 2.04 to VirtualBox 2.1

Let me explain the suituation:

I received a vhd file (14 gb) for using with virtual pc 2007 (windows xp host) and the performance under my laptop was always awful and the memory consumption, terrible.
I decided to install ubuntu 8.10 in another partition and try virtualboxOSE 2.04. It worked very well with the virtualpc image, the memory consumption was much less and the performance, almost flawless.
The only drawback was the lacking of sound and display driver (I knew that after installing the additions the issue is solved, but, the automatic update did not work)
I said, well, let's try another version, so I downloaded VirtualBox 2.1 (not OSE) and removed all the previous packages from the older version.
Upon running the program for the first time, I made a new VM, installed winxp and then downloaded the additions. All the drivers fine, performance excellent.
It was time to try my virtualpc image and after opening it, it asked me to update some configuration files. That was the end of my vhd file.
Everytime I try to run this VM, It gives me an error message saying that the hard drive file is invalid. I tried with virtualpc, virtualbox/OSE and the error message is the same.same problem.

I'll be very thankful if anyone here knows the answer to my problem :)

Do you have a backup of the VHD file? If you do, create a copy and load that in VB. Does that work, or does it give the same error? If it does, then it's kinda strange, as full support should be in 2.1.0. But the .0 releases are generally known to be buggy. If indeed the backup also fails, then please create a bug ticket in the Bugtracker. You need a separate account for it though. Post as much info you can.
