I am trying to install Windows XP SP3 as a guest on a Ubuntu 8.10 host. I am following along with the instructions in the manual and everything goes great until the XP install gets about half way completed. I keep getting a "Cyclic Redundancy Error" which stops the installation. I found in one post on this forum where someone "enabled pass through" when mounting the CD/DVD drive and I did this but this also failed with a "No bootable medium in disc drive" error.
Am I completely missing the boat here? What am I doing wrong?
All help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Have you tried cleaning your media? This sort of error is usually nothing to do with VBox, and all to do with physical read errors on the CD/DVD.
