I'm a really brand new linux user.
I'm using a Ubuntu 8.04 installed distro
I need virtualbox. In the past I use that very much in a Windowx XP Host system.
Non I try two version:
VirtualBox-OSE that don't work : it tell me that i don't have permissions on a file, that I need the group vboxuser - but I have that group on mine group.
VirtualBox-2.1: I install correctly that with apt-get install virtualbox-2.1 and after i install dkms with apt-get install dkms as susggested in a forum. But i can't find the icon to run that. I try virtualbox, virtualbox-2.1 on terminal but nothing happen.

Some one can help me?

I find the solution for the second problem: gui is runned by typing VirtualBox on terminal...
So, I create a link on desktop....

You will need to add your log in name (user) to the vboxusers group. To do that you can either:
1/ Use the "System->Administration->Users and Group" GUI application to add yourself into the vboxusers group.
2/ Or open a terminal window and type:
sudo addgroup your-user-name vboxusers

That's all.

You will find all the commands in /usr/bin: find /usr/bin -name V\*.

In Gnome, you can right-click on the menu bar and select the menu editor to add VirtualBox to the menu hierarchy.
