windows 7 - correct audio setup

Post by adam.sellers »

I have installed Windows 7 on virtualbox, managed to get a few things up and running okay, such as guest additions (run in compatibility mode as vista), networking came up but i can't get the audio to work.. I've asked google and they say to use the windows sound settings.. i don't have this option, only ALSA, OSS, NULL and Pulse audio.. none of these will get my sound going however... the device manager inside windows finds the device on ALSA and pulse (ICH AC97) but cannot find a driver for it.. has anyone come across this yet? Any suggestions?

Cheers :P

Just download windows updates - there is a driver that enables sound in VBox.
