Error launching xVMVB 2.10 in Ubuntu 8.10 Intrepid (32-bit)

I downloaded the .deb package from Sun, installed and never have gotten 2.1 to boot. I receive the following error:

Could not load the settings file '/home/nick/.VirtualBox/VirtualBox.xml'.
Element '{http://www.innotek.de/VirtualBox-settin ... Properties',
attribute 'defaultHardDiskFolder': [facet 'pattern'] The value '' is not accepted by the pattern '.+'.
Element '{http://www.innotek.de/VirtualBox-settin ... Properties',
attribute 'defaultHardDiskFolder': '' is not a valid value of the atomic type '{http://www.innotek.de/VirtualBox-settings}TLocalFile'.

Result Code:
VBOX_E_XML_ERROR (0x80BB000A)
Component:
VirtualBox
Interface:
IVirtualBox {339abca2-f47a-4302-87f5-7bc324e6bbde}

I downloaded and reinstalled the same version just to make sure I didn't have a corrupted version, but get the same error on launch.

Anybody got any good ideas? I am too new to LINUX file management to sort this error message and make the adjustments myself.

Thanks,

Nick

This is an error in your VirtualBox.xml file. Either remove it (if you don't have any VMs yet), or search the forums for what you can try too. See the Forum Posting Guide for some help finding info on the forums.
