This could a very silly issue but no harm in asking
I have installed Virtual Box 2.1.0 on an intel p4 EM64T host machine running Xubuntu 7.10 64 bitedition. (kernel 2.6.22-16-generic). I tried to create a guest 64 bit machine and install freebsd 7.1 and ubuntu 8.04 64 bit but the installer aborts by saying that the cpu lacks long support and that I should install 32 bit machine instead.
I created virtual machine using GUI frontend,
Isn't 64 bit guests supported from 2.0 ? Am I missing something here?
Running 64 bit guest

Hi see the Forum FAQ. You need to have both the correct type of CPU, in this case one that supports the VT-x instructions, and VT-x enabled in your BIOS.
