Clipboard Corruption

Post by DreadPirate »

Is anyone else having problems with the host clipboard being corrupt when a VirtualBox VM is running? I'm currently running Ubuntu 8.10 x64 as the host with Windows 2008 as the guest, and as soon as I start up a VM, anything I try to copy from the clipboard is completely corrupted. I know this used to be a problem in earlier versions of VirtualBox, but I thought it had been fixed...

I don't have any problems with the clipboard functionality. I can even copy and paste text from the one to the other. However, I do have a clipboard applet on my panel that can hold an x* amount of entries. You might want to try and add one too (if it exists for your Window Manager, I use Xfce).

* the amount is configurable

I have found that the problem only seems to occur when I have Windows 2008 running as the guest - all other OSs I have tried (including windows 7) do not corrupt the clipboard at all. Very odd behavior.
