I'm running Vista 64 bit SP1 host
ubuntu 64 / kernel failure
I ended up installing 32-bit as well, and have the same resolution issue to boot. Hopefully, an expert will chime in. Meanwhile, I am going to do some searching on these forums, as well as the Ubuntu forums.zionahead wrote:I tried 32 bit, works fine. But I can't get full screen even with guest display enabled

Check the manual. It all explains what is needed to run 64 bit Guests. If you don't meet those requirements, you can't run 64 bit guests.
