ubuntu 64 / kernel failure

Yeah, I am getting the same problem, trying to install on an Intel Core 2 Duo 2.2ghz with Win XP Pro SP3. Even tried the alternate cd install as well to no avail. Stumped. :(

I tried 32 bit, works fine. But I can't get full screen even with guest display enabled

I ended up installing 32-bit as well, and have the same resolution issue to boot. Hopefully, an expert will chime in. Meanwhile, I am going to do some searching on these forums, as well as the Ubuntu forums.

Check the manual. It all explains what is needed to run 64 bit Guests. If you don't meet those requirements, you can't run 64 bit guests.
