complete freeze when installing kubuntu

Hey guys,

We are trying to install Kubuntu 8.04 within a Vista Home Premium Host System. We tried using Virtualbox 2.10 and 2.06, but in both cases the same error occurs:

After having created a new VM we are able to boot from the Kubuntu CD and choose the option "Install". We can still choose the prefered language, but shortly afterwards the host system completely freezes and the only option ist a reboot of the complete notebook.

We tried changing the network interface as well as using IO-APIC instead of ACPI, which both did not lead to any success.

We would be very happy about any help.

Greetings
Timo

Do you have the same hardware as described here: http://www.virtualbox.org/ticket/1606?

It seems to be related to certain ATI drivers.

I'm not quite sure, but it sounds similar:

Asus F5Vseries (Duo T2130, ATI RADEOPN X2300, 1GB RAM)

Does that mean there isn't any solution at the moment?
